About Steve Ippolito:

Steve Ippolito is a drummer and composer based out of Pittsburgh PA. He co-founded The Clock Reads in 2014 who played extensively until 2020 and released full length studio records “Gnomon” and “Inner Peaks”. After the band went on indefinite hiatus, Steve looked to lead a group of his own that was open to exploring new sounds with an emphasis on spontaneous compositions. Through his time with The Clock Reads, he met several of the members that now make up his current project, Continuum.

Continuum is an amalgamation of all the sounds that have surrounded and inspired his musical life over the last decade. From the contemporary motion of modern jazz artists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, the rhythmic celebrations of Fela Kuti, the experimental post rock sound of Tortoise and guitarist Jeff Parker, the jazz-fusion driven textures of Tony Williams and Larry Young, to the improvisational territories a band like Phish or Grateful Dead would explore. Taken in totality, Continuum captures a euphoric creative synchronicity between some of the best and brightest musicians in the Pittsburgh music scene today.

As a side man, Steve currently performs with Norside Organ Trio, The Commonheart, and Sixth Wind.
