It took years of fleeting riff exchanges, flanked by chance meetings and eventually things gave way to a greatly anticipated, and long overdue rock n’ roll soiree for guitarists Kirk Salopek & Ryan Moore. Their moves proved catchy and the other members swooped in… Jeremy Papay (drums), Doug Korekach (bass), Dan Barrett (keys) & Lee Hintenlang (sax, extras).

The songs came together quick and dirty, and things looked promising by the time they had entered Rhythm House studios in February of 2018. Around this time Gary Musisko, a long-time friend and local performer, entered the picture. Recording immediately resumed with Musisko spouting off jive-talking numbers with a free and handsome confidence. As tracking concluded, the band would self-produce four songs and venture to New Orleans joining Rick Nelson (Afghan Whigs) at his fantastic Marigny Studios for the remaining two.

The Regal Sweet’s debut, self-titled EP features 6 songs paying homage to the excess and swagger of great 70’s rockers like T-Rex, Faces, The Stones, The James Gang and The MC5. With these influences worn proudly on their sleeves, The Regal Sweet lays down the heavy boogie, evoking notes of glamour and squalor and everything in between. Right on
